Clean 9 Cleanse: An Introduction

Clean 9 Cleanse: An Introduction

Today is the my first day of a nine day cleanse called the CLEAN 9 CLEANSE. Have you ever heard of it? Perhaps you've tried it already.  How did it work for you? It has worked remarkably well for some of my friends and work colleagues which is why I've decided to give it a bash. Six weeks until my much anticipated trip to California and some of my white bits are proving a tad too wobbly for my liking!

You'll know if you read THIS post on diet pills that I'm naturally suspicious and skeptical when it comes to detoxes and diets which promise incredible results in a short space of time. If something seems too good to be true then chances are it is. But after a conversation last week with Clare, friend and work colleague, I was intrigued to find out more about Clean 9, what it involves and what results I could expect. Clare explained that her mum had done it a few times and swears by it. Her most recent cleanse came to an end a couple of weeks ago and Mummy Cadwallader (for that is what I call Clare's mum) shed a very respectable 11 pounds in nine days. Her goal? To fit into all of her summer clothes for a trip to Tenerife over half-term and that's exactly what she did.

As much as I trust Mummy Cadwallader and her judgement I decided to investigate a bit further - eleven pounds in 9 days sounded like an awful lot to me. Was it a healthy weight loss? Would the weight just jump back on once the cleanse was completed? I was surprised to find that Clean 9 reviews are overwhelmingly positive and even more surprised to read that for many people the weight has stayed off since it proved to be the ideal quick kick start to a healthier lifestyle.

So what does it involve exactly?

As the name suggests it's a nine day plan which is one of the main reasons it appeals to me. I once embarked upon the Lighter Life program and lasted less than a week as I simply did not possess the will power to commit to 100 days of meal replacements. That's about 90 days too long in my opinion.

A few days after paying £120 and placing your order the "goodies" will arrive in this handy, dandy portable box:

 Inside the handy, dandy portable box you will find the following:

What each item is and what it purports to do

 Aloe Vera Gel

* Cleanses the digestive system
* Improves absorption of nutrients
* Helps metabolic disorders

Bee pollen

* Multi-vitamin and multi-mineral supplement
* Complete amino acid profile
* It's naturally high in zinc which is an anti-oxidant
* Energy booster
* Aids digestion
* Helps if tired or hungry
* Contains Lesothin which is key for weight loss.

It's recommended that you take ¼ of a tablet before starting the cleanse in case of an allergic reaction.

Forever Lite Ultra Shake

*Meal replacement
*Contains 18 amino acids
*Two servings provides the daily intake of soluble and insoluble fibre needed to regulate the release of nutrients.  Basically, keeps you regular!
*Fructose is used as a natural sugar to assist in keeping blood sugar levels balanced.

Garcinia Plus

*works on exisiting fats by inhibiting the enzymes which convert calories into fat
*makes us feel fuller and less inclined to snack
*contains chromium which builds muscle, balances blood sugar levels and lowers the production of cholesterol and fatty acids
*boosts your metabolic rate

Before getting down to the detoxing nitty gritty make sure you weigh yourself and note down those all important vital statistics. Hopefully it's the last time you'll be looking at those numbers, baby!  And if you're REALLY lucky you'll end up looking like the lady in the picture complete with golden tan.

When you take it and how much of it you take

There's no need for words. I've taken a picture of the relevant pages from the instruction booklet. Not the best pictures I've ever taken, granted, but they do the job.

DAYS 3 to 9

Days 1 and 2 will be tough, there is no doubt about it, but it's meant to be much easier on days 3-9 when the 600 calorie meal is introduced. I'm quite nervous to get started if I'm being entirely honest - I'm renowned more for my cakes than my willpower.

The fabulous thing is that two of my friends, Becky and Clare, will be joining me for my Clean 9 cleanse which thrills me more than you can imagine.  There is, after all, strength in numbers and I have a feeling we three may be in need of some mutual moral support at different stages of the proceedings.

So join me, my Warrior friends, on this 9 day detox journey! I will be blogging about it every day as well as filming an in-depth video diary so don't forget to check in and see how I'm getting on.

Who knows where it will take me? Hopefully to California a good few pounds lighter and with nice clean bowels. Wish me luck!

Ginger Warrior, over and out.

  1. Good luck! As you already know I’ve had brilliant results and have really changed my outlook on food and a healthy lifestyle. I lost 7lbs and a massive 14 inches! Remember to drink water!! X

  2. Good luck sweetie! It’s not will power you need…..it’s wont power!!! 😉
    You can do it and I’m looking forward to your what I know will be very honest results!
    Go girl!! xxx

  3. Good luck! I have known a few ppl do it with varying results – one losing just 2disappointing lbs, one losing 6lbs. I tried the aloe Vera, but not the whole detox. The only thing I will say is this: the aloe Vera is the most totally disgusting thing I have ever put in my mouth. Ever. So really, I mean it, good luck xxxx

  4. Hi, very interested to hear how you cope with this detox and also hear your ( fabulous) results! I am a great believer in ” don’t knock it until you try it” yourself so my fingers are crossed for you. Oh, just to say in my don’t knock it until etc. bungee jumping, roller coasters and children’s party attendance are omitted!

  5. Hmm, sceptic here. You should lose weight… you’re not eating anything for two days! Cleanse and detox are such vague words… I imagine everyone loses weight because they’re well hydrated and not eating much.

      I agree with you Kelly, I was always skeptical but thought I may as well give it a bash once. So far so good!!

  6. As Ceri’s Forever contact I am here every step of the way. Especially on those first two days. Ceri I know you can do this!! Just to point out it’s not a crash diet but a cleansing programme. Any weight loss is an added bonus as the intention of the programme is to cleanse and prepare you for healthier lifestyle and eating. Getting rid of processed food out of your diet … And it makes you feel great. :-) I am also starting day one today!! Excited!! :-) great blog Ceri!!

  7. Well good luck! That aloe vera certainly tastes…. Interesting!x

  8. Hi GW,
    This post interests me a lot, I’ve done cleanses before and found them very good for making me feel better and healthier about myself with the added bonus of loosing a few pounds. A little off topic, I’ve previously done a low carb / calorie controlled diet which consisted of meal replacement shakes and although it wasn’t the easiest thing I’ve ever done I was so determined that after a couple of days it became the norm and I really enjoyed it. For me it totally cleansed my pallet and made me completely rethink my eating habits. I’m happy to say that up until falling pregnant (when putting weight on IS allowed) I managed to keep the weight off and enjoyed eating a healthier diet. I think everyone has off days and everyone has treats but as long as you’re not eating bad food all day every day it’s all good.
    I’m very much looking forward to seeing how you get on with your Clean 9 Detox, I’m very conscious of how my body has changed during pregnancy and getting back into shape after my little one is born. I wont however be doing any kind of detox or diet until I’m full recovered from the birth and finished breast feeding if I’m able to do so.
    Thank you for your wonderful blog and sorry my comment is so long. Lea x

  9. Good luck Ceri. I’m certainly a big fan of the Forever Living Aloe Vera….

  10. I have no doubt you can do it. None. If you considered a 100-day plan before, this will be nothing!

    Me, however…eh? I could last 2 days.

    But I’m gonna cheer you right through those 9 days…BECAUSE YOU CAN DO THIS!

  11. Cuz, why oh why I do not know, but I am actually fancying trying this, hmmm, bizzare!

    As for you, I have 4 words – stop baking/eating cakes???

    Just a thought, maybe I shouldn’t do that eh

  12. How did it go? do you have a link t the results post?

  13. Hi I’m on my first day of clean 9.. I didn’t dwindle down my tea, or coffee or try the days before I started will I still get good results thanks

    • The Ginger Warrior

      Hi Katie. :) I didn’t do any pre-cleanse at all and I don’t think it made any difference to the end result. I hope it goes really, really well for you. Let me know how you get on! xxx

  14. Hi! I’m starting my aloe vera 9 day detox next week…..super excited! How did you get on?

    • The Ginger Warrior

      I blogged the whole process so just go to the Fitness and Well-Being section and it’s all there! Best of luck! :)

  15. Well done ginger worrior. I’m starting my forever living 9 day cleanse January 1st 2015 so glad I checked out your videos .

  16. Hi,

    I have started my Clean 9 program today and super excited, I want to lose 7 Kgs in 9 Days, do you think its a logical goal to have ?? Is it possible to achieve that in 9 days ?? Please suggest what all I can do to achieve this.

    • The Ginger Warrior

      Hi Arishiya,
      I’m afraid I don’t think 7kgs in 9 days is very realistic or healthy. But then again, I don’t know how much weight you have to lose so perhaps it’s possible. I lost just under 3kgs but I didn’t have very much to lose. Just follow the program and you’ll lose what your body wants you to lose. Let me know how you get on!

      Ceri :)

  17. I just happened across your blog. Well, I’ve been using fresh ginger as a tea and eating slices for about 3 weeks solid. Also, with it cayenne capsules and fresh garlic cloves which I chop and swallow like vitamins. The main purpose was to boost my blood circulation. You see I have been diabetic for 20 years and I have nueropathy in my feet. This has been an experiment. I went off my high blood pressure meds as part of it. Much to my surprise and joy my circulation has improved. In addition, my BP has dropped to normal in spite of going off the med. Of course there is more to this, I am near my ideal weight, but you get the general drift….Good luck.

  18. I have started the c9 programme today. I hope i can loose some kgs

  19. Comment
    I have been using clean9 for 4 days and no changes in my stomach.. Can’t even use the toilet. please do u know what’s wrong?

    • The Ginger Warrior

      I’m afraid I don’t. :( I think the best thing is to contact your distributor. It didn’t have that effect on me. I hope you feel better now! xxx

  20. Just wanna include that Clean 9 is more of a detox to help you start losing weight rather than losing a vast amount right away. For that you’d have to continue the line of F.I.T and so forth. When I did the cleanse I didn’t lose as much as I thought I would but I did feel a lot more energized to continue the diet and did F.I.T! I ordered from this site which gave much insight http://patforeverhealthy.flp.com/ :):) Hope it helps others too!

  21. Hi GW
    I am on day 2 and looking forward to my 600 calorie meal tomorrow.
    I just wanted to know if this plan helps with fertility as I am desperately trying to conceive.
    Has anyone done the C9 and got pregnant?
    Thanks and a great blog!

    • The Ginger Warrior

      Hi Mandy, I hope the C9 is going well! I’m afraid I don’t know how it works in terms of fertility. You would have to ask one of the distributors. I wish you the very best of luck both with the C9 and with having a baby! GW xxx
